The tripeptide esters Gly-Gly-beta-AlaOMe, Val-Gly-beta-AlaOMe and Phe-Gly-beta-AlaOMe can be condensated at the (C6Me6)Ru complex with sodium methanolate to give triple deprotonated cyclic tripeptides.
