General procedure: In a glove box, a flask was charged with Ru complex 4 or 5 and Ag salt 3. Anhydrous degassed CH2Cl2 was then added and the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3h in the dark. The solids were filtered off through a Celite layer and washed with anhydrous (2mL). The solution was diluted with anhydrous hexane (10mL) and remaining precipitated Ag salt was again filtered off.
