This suspension was cooled to -78 C. in a stream of argon, and 15 ml of the above synthesized tetrahydrofuran solution of trifluoromethyl cyclopentadienyl sodium was added dropwise to the suspension over 1 hour. The reaction mixture was further stirred at -78 C. for 3 hours and returned to room temperature under agitation over 12 hours.
